When to Schedule Your Baby’s First Dental Exam

Your baby should first visit the dentist for a checkup around their first birthday or when their first tooth erupts — whichever occurs first.

During your baby’s first dental appointment, we’ll talk with you about what to expect while your baby is teething and give you advice on how best to care for your baby’s new teeth.

Additionally, we’ll explain signs and symptoms to look for that could indicate (or lead to) a developing problem such as thumb sucking, teeth staining, or going to bed with a bottle.
